Born and raised in Fillmore, Saskatchewan, Kelly Wonitowy joined the Ability4Good in 2015. She comes to us with over 23 years’ worth of experience working with children with special needs. Her education includes aBachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Minot State University, a Master’s of Science degree in Infant Toddler Development from Minot State University and a Master’s of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Oregon.
Kelly likes the fact that Ability4Good focuses on improving lives rather than making a profit. She sees the need for supporting families who have children with special needs but lack the resources to obtain that support. After working in the school system for many years in Oregon, Kelly is keenly aware of the importance that the parental role plays in each child reaching his or her potential, and she would like to contribute more to that area of need. She also sees the importance of parents being able to advocate for their children to achieve success and independence in other settings and areas of their lives.
In her spare time, Kelly enjoys hiking, climbing, backpacking, camping, rafting and bike riding. She’s an avid reader of literature and keeping up to date on the most recent research related to autism and disabilities.
