PART-TIME PSYCHOLOGIST OR BEHAVIOUR CONSULTANT - EDMONTON

The Ability4Good’s Early Birds program works with children with special needs who are between the ages of 2 and 17.  We are currently seeking a part-time Psychologist or Behaviour Consultant to work with our Edmonton clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide support to children and their families, primarily in a consultative capacity
  • Serve as a resource for other team members and families on issues of anxiety, compulsions, rigidities and other behaviour-related issues
  • Provide support and strategies in the development of functional play skills and promotion of social skills
  • Prepare summary reports and related documentation for service reviews
  • Develop appropriate behaviour plans
  • Develop resources for families and other team members

Qualifications

  • Behaviour Consultant – Diploma/Degree (or equivalent), Psychologist – Graduate or post-graduate degree in Psychology or a related Human Services field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Drivers’ license/vehicle and ability to travel to families' homes in Edmonton and surrounding areas
  • Criminal records check (including a vulnerable sector check) and intervention record check
